Just like her namesake, Stainburn schoolgirl Rio Hardy has her sights set on England glory.
While Rio Ferdinand is preparing for Euro 2012, Rio Hardy is celebrating another big step forward in her budding football career.
Rio, has been placed on standby for an England Under-17 training camp next week.
If she gets the nod, she will join with England’s best young female footballers, who will be put through fitness drills and coaching sessions by FA coaches, before taking part in a training match.
With the European Under-17 Finals in April, Rio is hoping for the all important call to allow her to put herself in a position to be selected in the final squad.
