Challenge Champ

Each month our Vertical Tutors get together and appoint a pupil from Challenge College to be our ‘champ’. A pupil is appointed based on their recent achievements, or contributions to the community both in and outside of school. If chosen, the student has their photo and achievement displayed on the Challenge notice board, and has a Praise Postcard sent home to congratulate them about their success. So far this year the following pupils have been elected:

Challenge Charity

Challenge College currently support the ‘Ladder of Hope’, a registered charity, which also goes by the name of ‘CINDI’. The charity is based in Ndola, Zambia and is responsible for looking after 520 guardian families, who in turn care for more than 1700 orphaned and vulnerable children. The charities major focus is to help the families it cares for, to help themselves.

2011 was a very productive year with various events including a coffee morning, pancake sale and cake bake which included a competition between classes as to which Vertical tutor group could bake the most cakes for the sale before Christmas, 4C being the winner. The last event raised £193.33, bringing the total raised for Ladder of Hope Charity to: £824.25. Well done to Challenge!

The people in Challenge College are friendly and always want to help people. We are always willing to raise money for good causes such as Ladder of Hope. It is not just the pupils who make up challange, the form tutors are enthusiastic and aim to make pupils lives within the college more fulfilling. We are all in the heart of Challenge!

Challenge Captain Thoughts

Challenge pupils are caring, respective and value everybody’s opinion. They will always aim for the best that they can and pursue what they want to achieve. The driving determination of Challenge to help others which is shown through an accolade of successful charity events, helps clarify that Challenge is full of many sensitive, unique but united pupils, of which I am proud to represent.
