After being selected as Head Boy and Head Girl of 2011- 2012, we are pleased to have been given the opportunity to introduce ourselves and inform you as to what we intend to do in our role in the coming year.

A big part of our duties revolves around the School Council which we now head. This gives us the opportunity to look at different aspects of the school which we could improve, not just from our points of view but from fellow pupils. As we feel it is very important to ensure everyone has a voice in school and that their opinions and ideas be considered by not only us and the School Council but also the teachers and Senior Leadership Team.

Another group we are heavily involved in is the Rights Respecting School Steering Group. Our goal is to ensure that teachers and pupils alike understand that we all as people have rights and also what they are. Another goal is continuing our effort to achieve Level 2 from the UNCRC which we hope we can play a big part in achieving.

As far as our own ideas and goals, our main ones at the moment are; ensuring that the early preparations for prom can be started shortly after the Christmas holidays, selecting and eventually ordering the leavers hoodies and finally making sure we maintain an active role in the School Council and RRSSG. We both feel up to the challenges that now face us and will do our very best to fulfil any duties required of us.

If there is anything you would like to suggest to either of us or you would like an informal chat we are both very approachable people who I’m sure you will see around school. We look forward to seeing you there in the coming year and we hope we can make a difference to your everyday school lives anyway we can.
